Myofascial Release Therapy is a hands-on technique that involves applying gentle, sustained pressure to the myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.
Fascia is a dense, tough tissue that surrounds and covers all of your muscles and bones. When fascia becomes restricted due to injury, inflammation, or surgical procedures, it can create pain and limit mobility throughout the body.
At Omni Wellness & Performance, our skilled therapists use myofascial release techniques to identify and treat fascial restrictions, helping you move freely and live without pain.
Gentle sustained pressure releases fascial restrictions, reducing pain from chronic conditions, headaches, and muscle tightness.
Break through adhesions and scar tissue to restore natural movement patterns and full range of motion.
The gentle, hands-on approach promotes deep relaxation and helps reduce physical and emotional stress held in the body.
Break Free from Chronic Pain: Your Body’s Hidden Reset Button.
A revolutionary bodywork technique that dissolves deep-seated tension by targeting the fascia—the intricate connective tissue network that shapes your body’s mobility and resilience. Inspired by Ida Rolf’s groundbreaking work as a Rolfer, our myofascial release therapy precisely targets your fascia, the secret network of connective tissue controlling your mobility and comfort.
Imagine moving without restriction, breathing without tightness, living without pain. Our specialized approach doesn’t just treat symptoms—it rewrites your body’s entire stress response, restoring flexibility and unleashing your natural healing potential.
Mobility Redefined Move with the freedom you’ve forgotten. Our therapy gently unwinds fascial restrictions, restoring your body’s natural, pain-free potential.
Precision Alignment Stand stronger, move smarter. We don’t just relax muscles—we fundamentally realign your entire physical structure, delivering performance traditional therapies can’t match.
Reclaim Your Body.
Understanding what sets Myofascial Release apart from Traditional Relaxation Massage and Physical Therapy.
1. Traditional Relaxation Massage: Relaxation massage typically focuses on reducing stress and tension in the muscles through gentle strokes and kneading. The primary goal is to promote relaxation and overall wellness. It operates on the surface level, targeting superficial muscle layers to improve circulation and soothe the nervous system. While highly beneficial for immediate relaxation and stress relief, traditional massage does not usually address deeper connective tissues or chronic pain sources that affect mobility and structural health. Key Features:
2. Traditional Physical Therapy: Physical therapy typically focuses on treating specific injuries or dysfunctions through exercises, stretches, and manual therapies. In many outpatient settings, physical therapy clinics may see multiple patients per hour to one therapist, which can limit the amount of one-on-one attention each patient receives. This common practice often affects the quality of care, as therapists split their time and focus among several patients, potentially leading to a more generic and less personalized treatment approach.

3. Myofascial Release Therapy: Myofascial Release Therapy offers a unique approach by focusing on the fascia, the connective tissue that envelopes and connects all internal parts of the body, including muscles, bones, and organs. This therapy seeks to release fascial restrictions and restore its pliability, thereby enhancing systemic bodily functions and improving structural alignment and mobility. Myofascial Release is particularly effective for treating chronic pain, improving range of motion, and correcting postural imbalances that traditional methods may overlook.

How do I know what therapy I need?
Understanding the Comparison: Whereas traditional relaxation massages soothe and relax with immediate but superficial effects, and physical therapy targets specific functional recoveries, Myofascial Release Therapy works systemically. It engages deeper layers of connective tissues, promoting lasting changes and addressing widespread bodily dysfunctions from the ground up. This makes it especially beneficial for those suffering from persistent issues that do not fully respond to other treatments, offering a holistic and integrative solution to pain and mobility issues.
Myofascial Release Therapy is not just about treating symptoms but about fostering an optimal state of bodily health and balance, making it a crucial part of a comprehensive wellness regime. If you’re looking for a therapy that offers deep, systemic change and a pathway to greater bodily harmony, Myofascial Release could be the answer.

Myofascial release is a hands-on manual therapy technique that applies sustained, gentle pressure to the fascia — the connective tissue system that surrounds muscles, joints, and organs throughout the body. The goal is to release restrictions that have accumulated from injury, surgery, or chronic repetitive stress, restoring mobility and reducing pain that persists despite other treatments.
MFR is used for chronic pain syndromes, fibromyalgia, post-surgical adhesions, restricted range of motion, plantar fasciitis, chronic back and neck pain, and tension headaches. It’s particularly effective when pain and restriction persist despite other treatments that focus on muscles and joints in isolation, without addressing the fascial system.
MFR uses very gentle, sustained pressure — most patients find it significantly less intense than deep tissue massage. Some areas of restriction may produce a mild ache or pulling sensation as the tissue begins to release, but the technique is generally well-tolerated even in patients with significant pain sensitivity.
Traditional massage applies rhythmic pressure to muscles for circulation and tension relief. MFR applies sustained, directional pressure specifically to fascial restrictions — it works more slowly and targets the connective tissue matrix rather than the muscles themselves. The goals and techniques are fundamentally different, even though both approaches are hands-on.
This depends on the nature and chronicity of your restrictions. Acute presentations may respond in 3–5 sessions. Long-standing fascial restrictions — particularly post-surgical — often require a longer course of treatment. Your clinician will give you a realistic estimate after the initial assessment.
OMNI’s licensed therapists integrate myofascial release within a clinical assessment framework — treatment is directed at specific restrictions identified through evaluation, not a generalized full-body protocol. And because we work alongside physical therapists, MFR can be coordinated with your rehab plan rather than running parallel without context.
